This Neo-Renaissance building was put up in 1897 and 1898 by the architect Max Loos. Shortly before, in 1895, Teplice and Šanov had been joined into the twin town of Teplitz-Schönau. Lípová Street was thus an important link between the two parts – a promenade with popular restaurants, a hotel and a summer cinema.

The building used to be called the Society House, because it was built for the Men’s Choral Society, at that time one of the largest associations in the town. Unfortunately, the society could not afford such high running costs for long, and so in 1906 the building was taken over by the Teplice industrialists Fügner, Mitscherlich and Grohmann. From then on it was called Lipový dvůr (Linden Court). It had a restaurant, popular with spa visitors and with Teplice’s high society, and it hosted balls, dance classes and the famous afternoon tea dances, both before the war and after it. The building served this purpose until the 1990s.

In 1990 Lipový dvůr passed into private hands and began to fall into disrepair. Today the eastern part of the house is used as private flats.
